The Dwarfs of East Agouza are a leading force of improvised musical excitement. Founded in Cairo by Maurice Louca (Alif, Bikya), Sam Shalabi (Land of Kush, Shalabi Effect), and Alan Bishop (Sun City Girls, The Invisible Hands), the trio have developed a unique, always-recognisable sound, shapeshifting from free jazz and krautrock to Arabic influences and Egyptian Shaabi music. In March 2023, The Dwarfs of East Agouza present their newest live album High Tide in the Lowlands (Sub Rosa).

MOUNDABOUT (IE - Gnod/Damp Howl side-project) - exclusive fly-in show
Although this Ireland-centered collaboration between Paddy Shine of Gnod and Phil Masterson of Los Langeros, Damp Howl, and Bisect, is technically “new folk”, the listener should tread carefully. The audience is invited to see "folk music" not as a fixed concept, but as a glowing helix of a continuum, stretching way back beyond the revival of the fifties and sixties to a timeless vibrancy, that both predates and foregoes Irish civilization as a whole.
